The Office of the Colorado State Public Defender's Colorado Springs Office is a branch office located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. With one state public defender, one first assistant state public defender, two chief deputy public defenders and two chief trial deputies, the Colorado Springs office serves the city and county of Colorado Springs. The mission of the Office of the State Public Defender's Colorado Springs Office is to defend and protect the rights, liberties, and dignity of those accused of crimes who cannot afford to retain counsel. The system currently employs 889 FTE of which 535 are attorneys. The Colorado State Public Defender's office has 21 regional trial offices, a centralized appellate office that handles appeals from every jurisdiction in the state, as well as a centralized state administrative office.
