Section Title

Prison Families Alliance, Inc.

Prison Families Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the children and families of justice impacted individuals. Their programs are separated into adult and youth events to ensure that programming best addresses the unique needs of each peer group. Adult events are offered intermittently and address a variety of barriers that justice impacted adults and their loved ones face in the community, such as access to education and employment, as well as the stigma associated with incarceration. Since the onset of COVID-19, Prison Families Alliance has hosted these events virtually to ensure the safety of participants and to make the events as accessible as possible. The organization also maintains KidChat, a program that connects children ages 5-17 with other children who understand what it is like to have an incarcerated parent. This program is carefully monitored and children must have the consent of their parent or guardian to utilize the program.
