Prison Ministry of the Diocese of Honolulu is a faith-based organization that believes in the power of spreading the Gospel inside prison facilities. Their steadfast discipleship of Christ-bearers, guided by the Holy Spirit, brings those in prison together with the Christian community in generosity and justice. The Prison Ministry of the Diocese of Honolulu is required to call the Diocesan Community to a greater awareness and understanding of their responsibility to minister to currently incarcerated individuals as it is described in scripture and the Church's teaching and tradition. They also offer practical leadership in the Diocesan Community's effort to meet to the needs of incarcerated individuals, released individuals, their families and victims of crime. Their goal is to help participate in the planning and implementation of programs inside correctional facilities that offer individuals a pathway to redemption and healing.
