Prison to Employment Connection
Description
Prison to Employment Connection was developed to connect currently incarcerated individuals to job opportunities in the community. The mission of the organization is to help prepare individuals to reenter the workforce after their release from prison by facilitating connections to employers who are compassionate about criminal backgrounds. All residents of San Quentin State Prison who have less than one year left to serve are eligible for services through Prison to Employment Connection. The organization also works with those who have a scheduled Parole Board Hearing within the next six months. Those accepted into the program receive a rigorous 14 week curriculum that prepares them to enter the current job market, as well as an invitation to Employer Day, where they can meet with potential employers in the community. Their hope is that participants break the cycle of incarceration and reach financial security during reentry. For more information, contact them directly.
