Public Defender’s Office of the Brunswick Judicial Circuit, GA

The Public Defender’s Office of the Brunswick Judicial Circuit operates under the direction of the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council (GPDSC), an independent agency within the executive branch of Georgia's state government. This office serves indigent criminal defendants in Appling, Camden, Glynn, Jeff Davis and Wayne counties. The Office of Public Defender for Camden County is located in Woodbine and that of Wayne County is located in Jesup, Georgia. The Brunswick Judicial Circuit Public Defender's Office provides legal representation to individuals that are financially unable to retain an attorney without substantial hardship in the Appling, Camden, Glynn, Jeff Davis and Wayne County Courts. In addition, the Public Defenders advocate for low-income people accused of crimes. They also ensure that every accused citizen, regardless of financial resources, receives zealous and effective representation as mandated by the United States and Georgia Constitutions.
