RestoreHER

RestoreHer is a community based organization that specializes in advocacy and support for individuals returning to the community after incarceration. RestoreHER addresses the social structures that influence the criminalization and intersectionality of social inequities through education, community leadership, and policy advocacy to restore the dignity, protect the reproductive justice, and restore the rights of all women who have been impacted by incarceration, criminal conviction, and/or trauma. Our mission is to improve the lives of women who are directly impacted by inequity and work in partnership with those women to break the vicious cycle that contributes to mass incarceration for women of color and pregnant women in the South. One of their key pieces of advocacy was assistance with the Women's CARE Act which protects the bond between women and their children.
