S.J. Quinney College of Law Pro Bono Initiatives

The Pro Bono Initiative (PBI) at the S.J. Quinney College of Law is a law clinic and a volunteer program whose mission is to provide pro bono legal services to those without access to the justice system. Student volunteers work directly with attorneys to provide free legal consultation programs throughout Salt Lake City and Utah. The program also allows law students to build real-world problem-solving skills while serving their community. PBI's Expungement and Justice Law clinic offers criminal expungement services and addresses procedural questions regarding outstanding warrants or misdemeanor offenses. In addition, PBI's Veterans Legal Site helps with veterans' legal issues, including criminal, family, landlord/tenant, disability, and VA administrative law. The legal advice sites operate year-round and are staffed by volunteer students and attorney supervisors. The program also offers other opportunities for community engagement. Contact the Pro Bono Initiative at the S.J. Quinney College of Law to learn more about their pro bono legal services.
