Second Chance Risk Reduction Center is a reentry resource through the Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission. Second Chance Risk Reduction Center helps in three main ways: Job readiness training, housing, and personal needs for probation and parole. Program services include, but are not limited to, access to employment for justice-impacted individuals, resume and cover letter building skills, interview practice, transportation assistance, housing, one-time financial assistance, tenant rights and responsibilities class, community service fee assistance, positive officer client relationship reinforcement, access to substance abuse or mental health programing, GED and higher education programs, and access to basic health needs for eye glasses and prescriptions. Additionally, referrals are sent out for assistance acquiring clothing, work boots, other employment services, and house furnishings. Potential program participants must be a resident of either Jackson or Clay counties inside Kansas City, Missouri proper, be on Missouri State Supervised Parole for Probation, be an active member in Job Club, and must attended a minimum of on in-person Job Club for Case Management program assistance.
