Bayview Senior Services Senior Ex-Offender Program is committed to erasing the stigma against currently and formerly incarcerated individuals. Staff and volunteers believe that all members of the community, including those with a criminal record, deserve to live in a welcoming, supportive environment. The organization offers opportunities for justice involved individuals to give back to their community, with a special emphasis on supporting individuals over the age of 50. The Ex-Offender Program includes counseling services before and after release to assist seniors with developing healthy mindsets and habits to prevent recidivism. Participants also receive referrals to local organizations that support formerly incarcerated individuals, peer mentorship, access to recovery specialists, mental health services, a clothing pantry and basic hygiene products. Bayview Senior Services understands that many seniors reentering the community experience homelessness and struggle with chemical dependence. Their program is designed to intervene quickly and effectively so that these individuals have the best opportunity at a permanent return to the community.
