Description
South Carolina Department of Alcohol and other Drug Abuse Services, or DAODAS, is a government agency tasked with ensuring high quality services to reduce and prevent substance abuse. They are dedicated to improving health status, safety and quality of life for individuals struggling with substance abuse though the availability of resources and continuum of care. Prevention, treatment, and recovery services are all available through DAODAS and their statewide system of substance abuse agencies. Prevention services are designed to assist all ages in avoiding the dangers of using tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs. These services are geared toward prevention among young people, high risk groups, and the general public. Treatment services include assessment and an individualized treatment plan. Specific services range from DUI intervention, outpatient treatment, and gambling addiction, to specialized treatment services, such as intensive outpatient, inpatient, withdrawal management, and transitional housing. Their recovery services include access to information, resources, and support groups across South Carolina.
