TEEM

The Education and Employment Ministry, or TEEM, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to breaking cycles of incarceration and poverty through education, personal development and work readiness training. TEEM provides reentry services through their Empower course that offers transition planning and training. The curriculum for the Empower course includes financial literacy, computer skills, healthy relationships, addiction and substance use education, resume building, mock interviewing, and more. In addition to Empower, participants can go through an employment certification and training program in second chance friendly industries such as culinary arts or construction trades to prepare for success as they reenter society. In partnership with the DOC, TEEM provides pre-release culinary arts education and training for participants nearing their release. Additionally, they assist justice involved veterans through TEEM Veterans Initiative by reconnecting participants with their earned benefits or, for incarcerated veterans, connecting benefits to dependents. Justice involved veterans also have access to TEEM resources such as education courses, legal services, case management, substance abuse and mental health resources, direct aid, and employment support.
