The Capital Restorative Justice Project
The Capital Restorative Justice Project (CRJP) is a nonprofit organization. Its mission is to encourage healing and nonviolent responses in communities shattered by murder and executions in North Carolina. The CRJP is founded by people, families, and community members who actively work to promote peace, healing and understanding while finding an alternative to violence. The group manages itself through an all-volunteer Leadership Collective rather than a Board of Directors. The Leadership Collective includes family members of victims of violence, advocates, people of faith, and concerned community members committed to carrying on the vision of that first response. They connect whenever necessary to encourage one another and organize gatherings and events that promote healing. Additionally, the association connects family members with restoring justice activists around North Carolina and provides one-on-one listening sessions. The association also conducts seminars or workshops on restorative justice and advocates for people who have lost a loved one to murder or the death penalty.
