The Davies Shelters
The Davies Shelters is a collection of residential communities maintained to assist individuals experiencing housing emergencies. Staff and volunteers operate on the foundational belief that every individual is valuable and every individual has a right to restoration in the community. For that reason, The Davies Shelters work closely with community partners to address barriers that perpetuate homelessness and assist individuals with overcoming the specific circumstances that make housing stability difficult. While The Davies Shelters initially opened to provide safe housing for men experiencing homelessness, they have since opened a small community for women and children who require emergency shelter. In addition to residential services, The Davies Shelters runs a food program which assists individuals experiencing food insecurity. The program combines the efforts of a community garden with donations from local organizations and faith centers to ensure that all community members have access to nutritious food.
