The Institute for Human Services, Inc.
The Institute for Human Services, Inc. offers comprehensive community outreach services in an effort to end and prevent homelessness in the state of Hawaii. Since their foundation in 1978 as the The Peanut Butter Ministry, this nonprofit organization has worked tirelessly to create and tailor housing solutions to individuals and families in crisis as they work toward self sufficiency. Housing support services include homeless outreach to meet individuals where they are, emergency and specialized shelter for temporary assistance, and housing stabilization for at-risk individuals and families through their Placement and Prevention program. Alongside housing support, The Institute for Human Services, Inc. partners with other local organizations to offer meal assistance, employment opportunities, and health services. The ultimate vision of The Institute for Human Services, Inc. is to cultivate a community where individuals struggling with homelessness are empowered with confidence, dignity and hope to sustain a safe and affordable home.
