The ReEntry Entrepreneurship Development Initiative
The ReEntry Entrepreneurship Development Initiative is a program facilitated by the Indy Chamber to serve formerly incarcerated individuals. The Indy Chamber considers the program an anchor in its efforts to provide better support and opportunities for financial independence among community members with criminal convictions. The mission of the program is to facilitate small business opportunities with formerly incarcerated individuals as a possible route to sustainable and independent living. The program consists of a five-week program during which participants receive individualized support and coaching as participants develop a strong, viable business plan. To date, graduates of the program have successfully created more than 30 businesses in the community. Each year, The ReEntry Entrepreneurship Development Initiative provides a combined 10,000 hours of training to formerly incarcerated individuals, as well as almost half a million dollars in lending capital to help individuals establish their businesses.
