TRIO University of Idaho
TRIO University of Idaho is a program sponsored by the University of Idaho to increase access to higher education for low-income individuals. TRIO consists of six separate programs supported through the University of Idaho. The Upward Bound program provides educational support and mentorship to at-risk and first generation youth from underserved communities to help pave the way for successful entry into higher education after graduation. The Educational Talent Search program selects individuals with strong potential for success at university and provides support from 6th through 12th grade as means to increase access to higher education. STEM Access is a program which offers community youth hands-on and real world experiences in the STEM field, including robotics competitions and field trips. The McNair Achievement program assists undergraduate individuals make the transition to graduate school through mentorship and financial support.
