The University of Arizona Innocence Project is a law clinic at the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law that provides pro bono legal services to convicted individuals with claims of actual innocence. It is dedicated to freeing people who are in prison for crimes they did not commit, training law students, and reforming the justice system to prevent future wrongful convictions. They assist innocent defendants and helps to gather evidence to establish their claims of innocence and accept applications from those who believe they have been wrongfully convicted. In order for a case to be considered by the University of Arizona Innocence Project, applicants must have been convicted of a crime in Arizona, are actually innocent of the crime of conviction, a direct appeal has been denied and your conviction is final. The Project cannot assist in Lawsuits about prison conditions, Sentence reductions and Legal research, including providing copies of case law.
