Volunteer Lawyers for Justice
Volunteer Lawyers for Justice (VLJ) is a nonprofit organization that provides free legal services to New Jersey residents experiencing poverty. Since their establishment in 2001, Volunteer Lawyers for Justice has been dedicated to helping low-income residents obtain legal services they couldn't otherwise afford. Inequity is expected in the civil justice system, and those most vulnerable are typically the ones who suffer. VLJ helps to balance out such inequalities with Pro Bono legal services and by offering struggling individuals strength, information, and a voice. Pro bono legal services have the potential to bring about significant change, including economic stability and prosperity. VLJ is working to address the critical legal needs throughout New Jersey, including attaining racial, social, and economic justice. Volunteers, community partners, and VLJ staff regularly volunteer alongside community partners and friends to support neighbors and the community at large. Contact Volunteer Lawyers for Justice directly for more information on their services.
