The Washakie County Public Defender's Office is located in Worland, WY. This Public Defender's office's mission is to provide effective assistance of counsel to indigent adults and juveniles accused of a crime in Washakie County. The roles and responsibilities of the Public Defender's Office are to provide legal representation, consultation, and advice to clients, represent clients through criminal investigative proceedings, create a defense plan, conduct investigative legal research, interview the necessary clients and witnesses, work closely with clients, discuss relevant information and strategies. Individuals determined to be eligible for court-appointed counsel do not have the right to choose who their attorney will be. However, they do have the right to have competent legal representation.
