Section Title

Wyoming Honor Farm

Wyoming Department of Corrections Honor Farm is a minimum security facility and home to the Wild Horse program. The purpose of the program is to provide currently incarcerated individuals with an opportunity to form meaningful bonds with animals and learn how to be responsible for others. Individuals in the program interact with the horses, learning respect for the animals and their peers through the day-to-day challenges that arise while caring for living beings. Curators of the program believe that respect is a valuable skill for all justice involved individuals to embody, sometimes they learn through the Wild Horse program, and something they get from their peers in the program over time. Each year, the Wyoming Department of Corrections Honor Farm houses hundreds of individuals and cares for more than one hundred horses on site. For more information about the program or the facility, individuals should contact the Honor Farm directly.
