YWCA O‘ahu

The YWCA O'ahu is a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing systemic oppression and pursuing justice in the community. Their mission is to rid the O'ahu community of racism, to uplift women and to actively advocate for social equity. The organization is run by and for women, but it serves the community as a whole. Ka Hale Ho‘āla Hou No Nā Wāhine is a furlough program run out of the Fernhurst facility with supports women who are returning to the community after incarceration. They use the program to help disrupt the cycle of recidivism and assist women with obtaining permanent employment during reentry. Most participants also benefit from other YWCA O'ahu programs, such as those offering medical care and career advancement. Additionally, Homebase is a community formerly incarcerated women with extended access to transitional housing. This community is exclusive to graduates of the Ka Hale Ho‘āla Hou No Nā Wāhine program. For more information, individuals are encouraged to use the contact form provided on the website.
