Life After Justice

Life After Justice is a nonprofit organization that works to battle injustice for the wrongfully convicted and assists exonerees in rebuilding their lives. Their vision is a society that does not sacrifice innocence because of a legislative system that promotes legal injustice, racial prejudice, and economic inequality through the laws it creates. To accomplish that vision, they work to battle injustice through a three-pronged approach that is focused on advocacy for economic justice, impact litigation, and “After Justice” empowerment support. Their established ecosystem of support is focused exonerees learning to thrive in their lives through holistic mental health and wellness and technology support. Life After Justice intends to identify and rebuild critical laws that govern civil rights and end practices that promote and reward the inherent injustices of a legal system that needs more than reform. Life After Justice also works with The Innocence Project to address the financial redress of wrongfully convicted individuals, as well as providing a specially trained mental health network that provides the bridge for exonerees to discover how to adjust to their newly won freedom.
