Kiowa Tribe Re-Entry Program

Kiowa Tribe is a government agency that offers reentry services to Kiowa community members across the country. The Kiowa Reentry Program is dedicated to empowering formerly incarcerated individuals with growth opportunities. They provide post incarceration support and assistance in developing healthy families while healing tribal communities. Program coordinators educate formerly incarcerated individuals, families and communities while collaborating with federal, tribal, state, and county officials, identifying opportunities while eliminating gaps in criminal justice reform. The purpose of the organization is to inform American Indian justice involved individuals of their rights, roles, and responsibilities and, as a result, become active participants in their own cases. Furthermore, the program's goals are to relieve the heavy financial burden on tribal families, decrease the overall crime and recidivism rate within tribal communities, collect data from behind prison walls and spread inter-tribal focus awareness of Post Incarceration Syndrome and the traumatic multi-generational effects. Individuals interested in the reentry program must be Kiowa Tribe members and have at least one year out of prison or rehab.
