State Attorney’s Office Fifteen Judicial Circuit, Conviction Review Unit

The State Attorney's Office Fifteen Judicial Circuit Conviction Review Unit (CRU) is a unit that reviews wrongful convictions and whose goal is to is to identify, remedy and prevent wrongful convictions in the community. This unit consists of dedicated attorneys, investigators, and support staff. The service provided by the CRU is conducting an initial screening process to identify plausible claims of innocence on behalf of convicted defendants. The applicant or someone on their behalf can submit a petition for review by the CRU. You can do this by completing the online form, Downloading a printable PDF and submit by email, or mailing a hard copy of the form to the State Attorney's Office.
