Dallas County Conviction Integrity Division

Section Title

Dallas County Conviction Integrity Division

The Dallas County Conviction Integrity Division is a unit of the Dallas County District Attorney's office that considers claims of innocence. The purpose of the division is to act exclusively as an investigatory branch for all formal claims of innocence filed with the court. Their first priority is to establish that individuals demonstrate new and credible evidence relevant to the case, or illustrate how new technologies can be used to process evidence previously considered as part of the case. While their core focus is on claims of innocence, the Conviction Integrity Division also investigates claims where systematic errors contribute to wrongful conviction. All requests to have a claim reviewed by the division must go through the District Attorney's office and can be filed by mail. Individuals or their attorneys may contact the office with questions, or to follow up on previously filed requests for a formal review of their case.
