The 40th Judicial District Public Defender's Office is located in Laplace, LA. With one Chief District Defender, one Deputy District Defender, ten Attorneys, two criminal investigators, the 40th Judicial District Public Defender's Office handles misdemeanor, felony, delinquency, abuse and neglect cases, as well as, defense of criminal matters involving child support enforcement in St. John the Baptist Parish. Their goal is to provide zealous defense of the indigent and protect the guarantees of the Louisiana and United States Constitutions.
