ACLU Arkansas

The ACLU of Arkansas is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that uses legal, legislative, and public education methods to protect and promote a broad range of constitutional issues including, free speech, racial justice, privacy, religious liberty, reproductive rights, LGBT rights, and more. More specifically, the ACLU of Arkansas focuses on criminal justice with their Criminal Law Reform Project, which seeks an end to excessively harsh crime policies that result in mass incarceration and stand in the way of a just and equal society. The project works to reduce the number of people entering jails and prisons by reforming our nation's drug policies, challenging police and prosecutorial misconduct, as well as other governmental abuses of power. In order to achieve this, the ACLU of Arkansas recruits volunteer lawyers in order to challenge laws and practices that violate the rights of Arkansans.
