ACLU Mississippi

The American Civil Liberties Union is one of the largest nationwide collectives working to ensure social justice for all Americans. The ACLU of Mississippi works to protect the civil rights and individual liberties enshrined in the U.S. and Mississippi Constitutions. Their mission is built to ensure that those who have historically been denied their rights are afforded the same protections as everyone else, including people of color, members of the LGBTQ community, prisoners, and Mississippi's native peoples. The ACLU of Mississippi works in the courts to ensure that your constitutional rights are being defended and protected, and your civil liberties are expanded. They specialize in impact litigation, legislative advocacy and education. The ACLU of Mississippi educates legislators about ACLU of Mississippi positions, drafts legislation on priority issues, lobbies and testifies on bills affecting civil liberties, work in coalition, and are newly tapping into Mississippi's grassroots power to push for positive change and take on defensive battles in Mississippi.
