ACLU Virginia

ACLU Virginia is a non-profit organization that promotes civil liberties and civil rights for everyone in the Commonwealth through public education, litigation and advocacy with the goal of securing freedom and equality for all. They also provide legal assistance and conducts educational programs on civil liberties and civil rights. The ACLU of Virginia seeks to reform the criminal justice system to ensure that all individuals who interact with it are treated fairly and have their constitutional rights observed. They strive to end cruel and unusual punishments, address over-incarceration, and eliminate racial disparities. They seek to implement fair justice at all steps in the criminal justice system: police practices, prosecutorial discretion, sentencing, and in prisons and jails.
