The Alaska Department of Corrections (DOC) Anchorage Office is a governmental organization dedicated to public safety and respects the rights and dignity of victims of crime. Incarcerated people in their charge are treated in a safe and humane manner and are expected to enhance their ability to reform every day. The DOC serves Alaska's diverse population through objective, legal, and evidence-based community supervision while respecting the rights of victims, defendants, probationers, and parolees. The Alaska Department of Corrections is committed to a proactive reentry process that supports individuals transitioning out of incarceration by providing them with the tools needed to be productive, healthy and contributing members of communities across the state. Through their reentry initiative, the DOC empowers reentrants to successfully transition into communities through collaborative release planning including; individualized case management, programming, and positive family, community and peer support services to increase public safety and reduce recidivism rates.
