Beauty for Ashes Ministry

Beauty for Ashes Ministry is a 501(c)3 that was founded in 2009 by Derk and Gina Hanna. This ministry was birthed out of Gina's personal journey. She experienced firsthand a struggle with a drug addiction that landed her in prison. In prison, Gina discovered that the state-run programs didn't address the root issues of depravity in a way that brought lasting change. She also learned that ex-offenders need a community of support when they return home in order to successfully integrate back into society. This experience sent her on a mission to bring real solutions to these problems. BFA has three different programs that they offer. Beauty for Ashes Re-entry (BFAR) is an 18-month, Christ-centered program that promotes inner healing and life transformation for inmates. The foundational course of BFAM is Oaks of Righteousness.  This course is part of the curriculum for Beauty for Ashes ReEntry and is offered to the men incarcerated at Lansing Correctional Facility in Lansing, KS. BFA also provides outreach events.
