Description

Benedict Center offers services and support for justice-impacted women, including both formerly incarcerated individuals and survivors. They are committed to addressing inequity in the justice system as it affects women struggling with chemical dependence, mental illness and trauma. In addition to treatment centers, Benedict Center offers neighborhood drop-in locations, support for re-entry into the community, and ongoing advocacy. Each of their programs helps with the specific needs of justice-impacted women. The Women’s Harm Reduction Program focuses on mental health and substance abuse; the Sister Program offers support for street-based sex workers; the Women’s Reentry Program works with incarcerated women pre-release; the Justice Advocacy Program aims to protect and advocate for protections and support around mental health, substance abuse and trauma. Individuals can contact the program that most matches their needs, or drop into one of the neighborhood centers for support.
