Cherokee Nation Coming Home Reentry & Justice Involved Programs

Cherokee Nation is a government agency that offers reentry services to Cherokee community members released from incarceration. The Coming Home Reentry & Justice Involved programs are designed to help participants overcome barriers created by their justice involvement so they may successfully reintegrate after incarceration. The program also promotes healthy, positive interactions with family and communities. Reentry services include counseling, health care, behavioral health, clothing, hygiene, housing, driver’s license reinstatement, vocational training and other relevant services. Services are offered on a case by case basis as per the requirements of the justice impacted person. Individuals needing assistance must be Cherokee citizen, living in a county located within the Cherokee Nation Reservation and must be justice involved. The Career Services department at Cherokee Nation offers the reentry program. They provide tribal citizens with employment training opportunities and job assistance. The department also helps bring the industry into northeastern Oklahoma by offering recruiting fairs and employee training.
