Clark County, NV Public Defender’s Criminal Division

The Clark County Public Defender's Criminal Division is located in Las Vegas, Nevada and provides zealous representation for indigent clients accused of crimes. They practice in front of all of the Justice Courts in Clark County, before the 8th Judicial District Court and before the Nevada Supreme Court. They do not practice in the Municipal Courts of Clark County. With several attorneys and supporting staff, this office provides individuals with legal counsel at all phases of their proceedings. The Sixth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees the rights of criminal defendants, including the right to a public trial without unnecessary delay and the right to a lawyer. The privilege of offering representation to those in need is why the law has offered public defense services. Individuals determined to be eligible for court-appointed counsel do not have the right to choose who their attorney will be. However, they do have the right to have competent legal representation. Public Defenders have an ethical responsibility to work for the best possible resolution of the case for the client. Please visit their website for who qualifies for representation by the Clark County Public Defender's Criminal Division Office and how and when you can apply.
