Common Chord is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing books and other educational materials to those in correctional institutions in Pennsylvania. Their aim is to broaden their outreach and mission to address the challenges facing all Americans who are economically or educationally disadvantaged. They offer books related to biographies, history, science, current events, and a number of other titles designed to help people to explore new ideas. They focus on books for adult children of alcoholics, self-empowerment/self-help, GED and High School Equivalency Tests, educational development, any books with a persuasive and enduring message.
PB&J teach advocacy, talent, and relationship building to children and their parents, including parenting education in the homes. They support communities and families in prisons and jails, elementary, middle and high schools.
