Delaware Key/Crest Substance Abuse Programs

Delaware KEY/Crest Substance Abuse Programs provide recovery services to individuals with chemical dependence issues. According to the National Institute of Justice, these programs offer treatment inside correctional facilities in an effort to reduce the likelihood of substance abuse after release. Participants in the programs receive residential work release. Based on available data, the program shows strong indications that it is effective, with significant increases in the likelihood that participants remain drug free. One important aspect of the programs is that they continue to offer aftercare for individuals who are released prior to the completion of the program. All participants within the program are isolated throughout their participation, which minimizes temptations to use, but also helps create a core sense of community among participants. KEY represents the initial stage of the program, while CREST lasts an additional 6 months after the completion of KEY. For more information, contact the organization directly.
