DHDC’s vision is to create a stable and safe community where youth and families have quality opportunities for self-empowerment, education, and personal wealth. They are committed to meeting the needs of their community by providing quality, innovative and culturally appropriate services, primarily in Southwest Detroit. Family services include a parent mentor program, ESL classes, GED classes, and HUD housing/financial literacy counseling. Youth services include an after school program, as well as summer programs and a scholarship opportunity for active participants. Reentry services include case management and a tattoo removal program for individuals formerly incarcerated or gang affiliated. Contact DHDC directly for more information on their programs.
