Fifth Avenue Committee

Fifth Avenue Committee is a community based program that serves populations in the greater New York City area. Their mission is to promote access to economic sustainability, social and racial justice for all individuals and families in the community. They pursue this goal through a combination of residential services, street level community organization, vocational services and support systems that assist individuals and families in times of crisis. Fifth Avenue Committee operates affordable housing development projects to ensure that justice involved individuals and families facing housing insecurity have access to safe, stable living communities regardless of income. Community services include financial literacy coaching, legal advice, assistance accessing government benefit programs and tax preparation. These services are offered to community members free of charge. Additionally, Fifth Avenue Committee operates eight different vocational programs to assist individuals seeking to enter the workforce. These programs provide essential training, support and job preparation to begin careers in the New York City area.
