Foreverfamily Inc helps children with incarcerated parents find their voice. In the metro Atlanta area, Foreverfamily has several programs designed to nurture our children socially, emotionally, and educationally in an enriching environment. The Children’s Program consists of two components: Youth Engagement Zone (YEZ) and Young Entrepreneurs Project (YEP). The Foreverfamily YEZ Program provides an opportunity for school-aged youth to identify issues within their communities.YEZ focuses on developing public speaking skills, leadership, project management, teamwork, and problem-solving. YEP seeks to improve the economic base of children of incarcerated parents by introducing them to the field of entrepreneurship. 5-10 young people between the ages of 16-28 are selected through a competitive process to work closely with professional mentors, identifying and developing a business idea. Foreverfamily also holds monthly prison trips, where transportation is provided to 2 out of 4 women’s facilities in Georgia so that these children can visit their mothers. They also partner with another agency so children can visit their fathers at select facilities.
