Good News Jail & Prison Ministry

Good News Jail and Prison Ministries is a faith-based organization that provides currently incarcerated individuals with spiritual guidance. Their mission is to arrange for Christian chaplains in jails and prisons to provide ministry and support to incarcerated individuals and staff. Volunteers believe that the most effective tool for spiritual healing and meeting the needs of currently incarcerated people and staff is the daily presence of a chaplain. The chaplain acts as pastor, counselor, mentor and friend to those inside correctional facilities and the staff who guard and protect them. Good News Jail and Prison Ministries hopes to decrease the rate of reoffence and reincarceration in the community by bringing participants closer to God as they serve their sentences. Once released, these participants can continue to interact with the Church and serve as a mentor for others. For more information about specific services or to request ministry in your correctional facility, contact the organization directly.
