Guiding Light

Guiding Light is a faith based organization providing support services to individuals recovering from substance abuse. The program is grounded in a four month residential experience that includes peer support and workshops that emphasize personal accountability. Currently, Guiding Light is available only to male participants as the housing community is not approved for mixed gender living. Staff make use of evidence based practices that include life development workshops, spiritual coaching, therapy, group sessions centered on recovery, psycho-social services and structured exercise. Guiding Light focuses their attention on two core programs: substance abuse treatment, and job placement services. The addiction rehabilitation center emphasizes that there is no cost to clients, making treatment for addiction more broadly accessible regardless income. This program centers practices and habits that contribute to lifelong sobriety. The employment services section of the organization facilitates connecting individuals to potential employers in the community who do not discriminate against those with criminal records.
