The Walter Hoving Home is a residential, faith-based housing option for women recovering from chemical dependence. They are a non-profit organization that assists women who have been involved in chemical dependence, sex work and other life-controlling problems. There are Hoving Home facilities in New York, California, New Jersey and Nevada. They offer shelter, as well as faith-based programing designed to facilitate positive and permanent changes for women in recovery. Hoving Home Leadership Academy also offers an educational program for women interested in ministry. Individuals can contact staff directly 24 hours a day for assistance. They will conduct a brief telephone interview to determine individual needs and arrange for placement in one of their homes.
Mending Hearts is a recovery-based therapeutic community for women. They help women restore their lives from addiction through a long-term treatment program that offers hope and healing in a supportive community environment – regardless of their ability to pay.
