Idaho Treatment Courts

Idaho Treatment Courts is operated through the Idaho Justice Services Division to address mass incarceration and excessive sentencing. Their goals include the reduction of jail and prison populations, treatment for chemical dependency among individuals with criminal convictions and juveniles, disrupting the cycle of recidivism and assistance utilizing the resource programs available through the state of Idaho. Idaho Treatment Courts offers diversion services for individuals facing charges for non-violent crimes related to chemical dependence. Eligible participants have the opportunity to enter treatment and receive increased support through the recovery process. They believe that this assistance is vital to disrupting the cycle of reincarceration due to substance abuse and drug-related crimes. Their hope is to assist individuals toward permanent recovery and reentry into the community as successful, sober and contributing members of society.
