Journey to New Life is a community based organization committed to serving formerly incarcerated women returning to the community. Each of their services targets women at a specific stage in the reentry process, helping to ease the transition during their first year and work toward a permanent return. They operate the Journey House and the Peace House, serving up to 17 women at a time through residential services, guidance and counseling during the first four months of the reintegration process. Residents work directly with peer support managers and social services case workers to address individual needs and reach a point of self sufficiency. Additionally, Journey to New Life offers emergency assistance to all returning women, equipping them with basic necessities and comforts in the days following release.
