Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry (LMM) is a nonprofit organization that offers programs that change lives, transform communities and enliven community engagement. Their advocacy work informs systems change at the local, state and federal level by leveraging the expertise of staff and the experiences of program participants to advocate on behalf of those who are hurting to be empowered, valued, and healed. LMM’s Health & Wellness Services promote health and well-being and support improved quality of life for adults, youth, and families. They provide counseling services, case management and education and support groups. Their Friend to Friend program engages volunteers in one-to-one prison visitation. Their Youth prevention provides violence and substance abuse prevention education and alternatives to youth ages 13 -17 who participate in our shelter and independent living programs. They also provide Vocational Training and Education. Their Chopping for Change empowers women in the criminal justice system by providing them with significant work experience and training.
