The Maryland Public Defender's Appellate Division is located in Baltimore. With one Chief and one Deputy Chief, the Appellate Division represents OPD clients in direct appeals from the circuit courts to the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland in criminal cases, juvenile delinquency cases, and child access (CINA/TPR) cases. If you were originally tried in the circuit court and were found guilty by a judge or jury, you have the right to appeal to the Court of Special Appeals through the office of the Appellate Division in Baltimore.
