The Mindfulness Peace Project (MPP) is a Colorado-based nonprofit organization. They offer several programs integrating mindfulness and meditation to people in very difficult situations. Its mission is to cultivate fundamental sanity and dignity in individual work with incarcerated men and women nationwide. Their Veteran Peace of Mind is a study program integrated with mindfulness practice for incarcerated veterans in prisons throughout the United States. Their Solitary Confinement (SC), in development, is a secular program requested by the Colorado Department of Corrections to bring mindfulness and meditation to incarcerated in isolation. They also offer a detailed guide to mindfulness practice specifically for incarcerated people in solitary confinement called “Discovering Sanity”.
