New Haven Opportunity Center

The New Haven Opportunity Center is a brick-and-mortar hub that increases access to social services in the New Haven community. The center was founded as part of the city's initiative to improve social service delivery by opening a space inside the community. New Haven Opportunity Center staff are ready to assist individuals who face barriers to independent living, including formerly incarcerated individuals, survivors of domestic violence and people with disabilities. Staff can put individuals in contact with community resources that meet their unique needs, such as treatment for chemical dependence or sustained medical care for individuals without insurance. Individuals also receive assistance obtaining government documents, enrolling in government benefit programs and navigating the care centers throughout the community. Considered a one-stop shop for all social services and a bridge to community organizations, the New Haven Opportunity center is available for walk-in assistance during the business week. Individuals can also contact them via email or by phone for assistance.
