The Pennsylvania Innocence Project works to exonerate those convicted of crimes they did not commit and to prevent innocent people from being convicted. Other services include clinical training and experience to students in the fields of law, journalism, criminal justice, and forensic science; collaboration with law enforcement agencies and the courts to address systemic causes of wrongful convictions; and improving the effectiveness of the criminal justice system in Pennsylvania through public education and advocacy. The work of the Pennsylvania Innocence Project does not stop after litigation, they also provide reentry services for those who were wrongly convicted and exonerated of their crimes. Additionally, they facilitate a support group that is a safe space for exonerees called Transition to Innocence.
