Providence House serves and advocates for women and families at risk, who have histories of justice-involvement or homelessness, and provides a safe community where their strengths are enhances, dignity is recognized and a transition to stability is achieved. Their services include transitional housing, employment and house searching support as well as child development and parent coaching services. Their women’s justice program also provides temporary housing for women who would otherwise be held at Rikers Island, therapy, and explores training and employment options. Permanent housing is also available to clients who have experienced chronic homelessness and supportive services to teach life skills for independent living.
TSH DC's target area possesses the highest concentration of public housing in the metropolitan area. This includes five (5) housing developments operated by the Kansas City, Missouri Housing Authority, as well as three (3) privately funded housing developments.
